Compressible Multicomponent Flow Calculations and Shock-bubble Interaction
We report on the development of a numerical method to simulate two-dimensional compressible multicomponent flows. Our scheme is shockand interface-capturing, quasi-conservative and high-order accurate. We validate it for two-dimensional problems including shock-bubble interactions and examine the shockinduced asymetric collapse of a cylindrical gas bubble in water, where wave strengths and puls...
متن کاملNuclear Flow in Consistent Boltzmann Algorithm Models
We investigate the stochastic Direct Simulation Monte Carlo method (DSMC) for numerically solving the collision-term in heavy-ion transport theories of the Boltzmann-Uehling-Uhlenbeck (BUU) type. The first major modification we consider is changes in the collision rates due to excluded volume and shadowing/screening effects (Enskog theory). The second effect studied by us is the inclusion of an...
متن کاملUnsteady Flow Calculations with a Parallel Multiblock Moving Mesh Algorithm
A novel parallel dynamic moving mesh algorithm designed for multiblock parallel unsteady ow calculations using body- ttedgrids is presented.Themoving gridalgorithmwithin each block uses amethod of arc-length-based trans nite interpolation, which is performed independently on local processors where the blocks reside. A spring network approach is used to determine the motion of the corner poi...
متن کاملMulticomponent Flow Modeling
We first present multicomponent flow models derived from the kinetic theory of gases. We then investigate the symmetric hyperbolic-parabolic structure of the resulting system of partial differential equations and discuss the Cauchy problem for smooth solutions. We also address the existence of deflagration waves also termed anchored waves. We further indicate related models which have a similar...
متن کاملA consistent Steiglitz-McBride algorithm
An on-line version of the Steiglitz-McBride algorithm that is consistent in the presence of colored noise is proposed. In addition, a proof of local convergence of the new algorithm is provided. Some computer simulations are included showing that the consistent Steiglitz-McBride algorithm is useful for IIR adaptive filtering when the measurement noise is colored.
